The new single from Xades is an impressive, genre-bending piece that takes us on a journey from vulnerable, downtempo electronica into melody-heavy contemporary R&B. Various layers of influence can be found in the sound of this perfectionist’s output, with her South American heritage seeping through into her rhythms. Xades is probably best known for her work as MSJY. Her new output allows us to take a peek behind the curtain of an artist normally found bouncing behind a DJ booth that spits out heavy basslines.
